Student Access and Success
Jayson E. L. Douglas, Ed.D. serves as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Affairs and Chief of Staff to the Vice President at East Texas A&M University. In this role, he supports divisional strategy, coordination, and operational alignment across enrollment and student affairs functions, helping advance institutional priorities related to recruitment, student access, persistence, and overall student wellbeing.
Dr. Douglas provides executive leadership in areas including marketing, data and assessment, divisional finance and administration, staff development, and strategic initiatives that strengthen collaboration across Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. Working closely with the Vice President and divisional leaders, he helps ensure alignment across key units that support the student lifecycle, from admission through graduation and beyond.
Prior to this role, Dr. Douglas served as Executive Director of Student Access and Success, where he oversaw several student support areas including student advocacy and support, counseling services, disability services, first-generation student success, international student and scholar services, and the multicultural center. His leadership has focused on creating student-centered systems that improve access to resources, strengthen cross-campus collaboration, and enhance the student experience.
Dr. Douglas brings nearly a decade of experience in higher education leadership and is deeply committed to advancing student success, access, and institutional effectiveness. His work centers on building coordinated systems of support that allow students to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

What would you tell a student who is thinking about attending East Texas A&M?

What do you like most about your career?
As an educator, I get to help students charter unchartered territory within themselves to grow in ways they haven't imagined. It brings me great joy to help students accomplish their goals and dreams along the path towards graduation.
