Residential Living and Learning Mission
Residential Living and Learning (RLL) is committed to fostering a student-centered residential experience that builds community, supports purposeful learning, and cultivates meaningful connections through leadership development and holistic engagement.
Statement of Responsibility
The information contained in this handbook is provided to support the East Texas A&M University (ETAMU) Residential Living and Learning (RLL) community and outline the expectations, policies, and procedures that contribute to a positive residential experience. Residents are encouraged to make ETAMU their home away from home while building meaningful connections and engaging as active members of the residential community.
All residents share responsibility for creating a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment. Residents are expected to become familiar with and follow the policies, procedures, and community standards outlined in this handbook. Understanding these expectations helps promote personal growth, accountability, and an enriching on-campus experience.
Residents are responsible for the actions and behaviors that occur within their assigned living space, including the actions of their guests. Residents may be held accountable for policy violations that occur in their room, suite, or apartment, even if they were not directly involved or present at the time of the violation. Residents who are present during a policy violation may also be subject to the Residential Living and Learning conduct process.
Any damage to University property, whether intentional or accidental, may result in the responsible resident(s) being charged for repair, replacement, or restoration costs. Residents are expected to take responsibility for their actions and contribute to the care and well-being of the residential community.
