COSE Graduate Scholarship Opportunity

The COSE M.S. in Computer Science Graduate Scholarship assists incoming East Texas A&M graduate students starting in the fall or spring semester of each academic year.

To qualify for the M.S. in Computer Science Scholarship, the following eligibility requirements must be met:

  • Fully admitted graduate student in the M.S. in Computer Science program
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or First Class distinction.
  • Must enroll in six semester credit hours for domestic students or nine credit hours for international students.
  • Applicants will be considered at the time of admission.
  • The duration of the non-renewable scholarship shall be for one academic year if starting in the fall and one semester if starting in the spring. For students admitted in the fall, the amount will be $500 for the fall semester and $500 for the spring semester. For those admitted in spring, the one-time amount will be $1,000.

Both domestic and international students may apply for this scholarship. For competitive scholarship recipients, the scholarship will entitle an out-of-state student to the non-resident tuition exemption. As such, students with any other scholarships, awards, or graduate assistantships that provide non-resident exemptions are ineligible for this scholarship.

All new applicants are automatically considered for the scholarship.

The scholarship will be applied to your university account balance for the academic year.

Once you have applied to the program you will also be considered for scholarship eligibility. There is not a separate application for the scholarship.

STEM Living and Learning Community

Living and Learning Community (LLC) is a housing alternative available for students majoring in STEM-related fields. Individuals who participate in LLC enhance their academic experience by building strong relationships with students who share common majors, interests or program affiliations.

Resources available for LLC students:

  • In-hall tutoring
  • Outside-the-classroom access to faculty and staff
  • Programs and events
  • Job shadowing opportunities

Requirements:

  • Freshman classification
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Actively participate in community activities, meetings, programs and events
  • Enroll in a minimum of one core course in the STEM discipline each semester
  • Set academic and professional SMART goals
