RN to BSN Program Overview

The nursing courses meet the Texas Board of Nursing Differentiated Essential Competencies of Graduates of Texas Nursing Programs and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials.

Courses integrate evidence-based practices and research; principles of leadership and management; and population-focused care.

Affordable and 100% Online

The East Texas A&M University School of Nursing and Health Sciences offers an affordable, fully online RN-to-BSN program.

Taking Classes

Our fully online program is designed for working professionals.

Flexible Path to Completion

Our competency-based education (CBE) model provides the opportunity to accelerate through the content of each course. Leveraging your existing knowledge and work experience related to a particular topic.

If you complete a course by the end of week 4 in a term, you can add another course at no additional cost if you can successfully complete the added course in the remaining weeks of the term.

The CBE model also allows for deceleration if necessary. For example, if you encounter an unanticipated increased demand in your work-life commitments, you may pause your pursuit of your BSN degree and then continue when your schedule permits.

Curriculum

The RN-to-BSN degree plan consists of the Texas Core Curriculum and nursing support courses that can be completed before applying or after acceptance into the RN-to-BSN program.

Our Program Includes:

  • The Texas Core Curriculum and Nursing Support Courses, which you may complete before applying or finish after acceptance.
  • 10 courses (30 credit hours) offered in convenient seven-week terms.
  • Affordable tuition — just $1,000 per term, with the option to take 1–2 courses each term.
  • Flexible clinical and theory application that can be completed in your own community, home or workplace.

Terms

All competency-based programs are offered in two seven-week terms per traditional semester with a break between each term.
