Bring Your Counseling Expertise to Schools
As a counselor, your job is not about fixing students but walking alongside them. This bridge program is designed for clinical mental health counselors who have already earned a master’s or doctorate in counseling and want to extend their practice into K-12 settings. You’ll have the opportunity to build on your clinical foundation with coursework in school counseling, child and adolescent counseling, assessment, play therapy, and advanced counseling skills, and you’ll apply it all in a practicum. Together, these courses complete the additional requirements to pursue certification as a school counselor.

What Are My Job Opportunities?
Completing this certificate prepares you for the certification exam to become a certified school counselor and opens doors to roles that support students’ academic, personal and career development.
