Focus Your Passion

The Department of Psychology and Special Education offers two tracks toward earning your master's degree in psychology. Explore which option works best for your research interests and career goals.

Psychology – Thesis Option

If you’re interested in a doctoral program, we recommend the thesis track as it will help prepare you for an eventual dissertation. You will have the opportunity to learn how to conduct an independent research project, including literature review, research design, and collecting/analyzing data. (Total Hours: 36)

Psychology – Non-Thesis Option

This track is for students who do not ultimately intend to apply for a doctoral program and have no need to conduct a research project. Instead, these students just need a master’s degree for their intended career. (Total Hours: 36)
