Keren de la Garza Escudero Graduate Assistant of Outdoor Adventure

How do you help students at East Texas A&M?
I help students by pursuing my love for community and outdoor adventure! Helping can range from accommodating one's physical needs to lending an ear and offering guidance. By being in my position, I hope to inspire and help students sharpen their leadership and outdoor activities/sports skills.
A conversation with Keren
How do you like to stay active (physically, mentally, etc)
I like to stay active by growing my relationship with Christ, running with my Australian Shepherd dog, climbing, working out, learning new instruments/songs, and catching up with my loved ones!
What do you like most about your career in Campus Recreation?
What I like most about my career in Campus Recreation is that I get to become part of our larger mission, which is to connect, educate, and inspire people to lifelong activity and wellbeing. Being able to impact people's lives with community, combined with physical activity, is truly special. Even if we don't always see the change, knowing it is real and active is inspiring.
What else would you like to share about yourself or your East Texas A&M University experience?
My interest and passion for the outdoors started when I was introduced to hiking, camping, and climbing as a young kid. However, it wasn't until college that my experience in climbing and the outdoors grew and developed. I also love exploring new coffee shops, playing/listening to music, and making every day an adventure!
