A Conversation with Bret

How do you like to stay active?

I like to stay active by going to the gym and playing sports!

What do you like most about your career in Campus Rec?

What I like most about campus recreation is the relationships built with the staff and the people in the community. My prior experience working in campus recreation at the University of Iowa led me to where I am now in my career path at East Texas A&M. My interests and personality align well with campus recreation, as I look forward to pursuing a career in the industry!

What else would you like to share about yourself or your East Texas A&M experience?

Some of my hobbies include sports (both playing and watching), movies, and spending time with friends and family. I am generally open to any hobbies or activities that my friends or family may have an interest in. I look forward to being a graduate assistant to see what the school and area have to offer!

How do you help students at East Texas A&M University?

I try to lead by example when it comes to helping students on campus. My graduate assistant role plays a part in helping our student staff setting up for success. I want to be approachable in how I operate because I believe building relationships is important in campus recreation!
