Program Details
A Master's of Science in Health, Kinesiology & Sports Studies with a concentration in sports coaching will encourage you to search into how impactful coaching enhances athlete performance, how to create cutting-edge training strategies and how to cultivate leadership and teamwork within several athletic settings.

Gain an understanding of strategies for motivating athletes, team management and ethical decision-making to build team success.
Sports Science
Understand theories in sports conditioning and sports nutrition to optimize performance and recovery.
Psychology and Sociology of Sport
Explore the psychological aspects of coaching, including motivation, team dynamics and mental health, as well as the sociological impact of sports on individuals and communities.
Training Program Design
Develop skills in designing and implementing effective training programs, understanding game strategies and improving athlete performance through various coaching methodologies.

Online
Our 30-credit hour master's program is offered 100% online, providing flexibility for busy professionals. You can take courses in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters, allowing you to tailor your studies to fit your schedule.

Curriculum
Our 30-credit hour program is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of both aspiring and experienced coaches. Our curriculum focuses on the four essential areas of coaching: tactical, technical, psychological and physical aspects of sport. You’ll be well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the sports coaching profession, equipped with the expertise necessary for success in various coaching roles.

Instructional Coach Graduate Certificate
This certificate will prepare professionals to train and empower educator leaders to support and guide their colleagues in effective instruction within the classroom.
Business Analytics Graduate Certificate
The Business Analytics Graduate Certificate is a 12 semester hour (4 courses) certificate. All courses are currently being taught and eligible to help meet the requirements for the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MS-BUSA) program.
Organizational Planning Graduate Certificate
Offered through the technology management program at East Texas A&M, the Organizational Planning graduate certificate highlights your completion of a 12 semester-credit-hour program of graduate-level courses focused on strategic planning in organizations within the broader field of technology management.
Organization Development Graduate Certificate

How Do I Get Started?
If you have not already done so, complete the Request Information form. You will be connected with your enrollment specialist, who can answer your questions. When you’re ready, go ahead and follow the steps below to apply.
Admissions Requirements
To be considered for admission, you must first meet the following criteria.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Admission Process
Note: This program is not available to International students
- Create an account or login if you already have one
- Complete your profile section first once you log into your account
- Select “School Search” and select East Texas A&M
- Choose the semester you wish to begin
- Select “Health, Kinesiology & Sport Studies, MS” as your “Program.”
- Pay the $50 application fee.
Wait to receive an application confirmation email before proceeding to the next step.
- Within two business days of your application, the Graduate School will send a confirmation email to the personal email account you used for ApplyTexas.
Provisional Status
After you submit your application, you may be granted provisional status, which means you can enroll in one semester of courses. You will not be eligible for financial aid until you submit all of your documents and are accepted into the program.

Domestic Transcripts
Contact your previous institution(s) and request that they send your official transcripts to your Graduate Student Services Coordinator. We accept transcripts officially via email (directly from the institution), through Parchment, and any other official transcript providing agency. If your university does not offer an electronic transcript service, you may request them to be sent via regular mail to:

We will access your transcript.
If we already have your transcript, we will reuse it for a new application as long as it is still on file.
International transcripts
WES ICAP evaluations will be required for certain countries; those are listed below:
- Transcripts/Degrees from universities in Nigeria
- Transcripts/Degrees from universities in China that do not come from CSSD (formerly CHESICC)
- Any country where the official transcript is not in English
For all other countries, an evaluation is not initially required. Original official transcripts are required for admission consideration.
Please know that upon receipt of your official transcript, the Graduate School reserves the right to require an external evaluation at that time.

In 1-2 pages, describe your background, goals and desired concentration: Athletic Administration, Exercise Science, Sport Management or Sports Coaching.
Submit a resume or curriculum vitae (CV) which includes your academic and professional history and achievements.

- Once an admission decision has been made, you will receive an email to your student email account at myLeo > Apps > Leomail.
- Apply for scholarships and graduate assistantships once you are admitted.
- Apply for financial aid by submitting a FAFSA and sending it to school code 003565.
- Contact your financial aid advisor with any questions.
Once registration opens and you are eligible to enroll, your graduate enrollment specialist will contact you to complete registration.
