What You Will Learn
This program will prepare you for research-intensive jobs in biochemistry, biophysics, microbiology, zoology or doctoral programs in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, physical therapy and allied health sciences fields.
Courses to Prepare You for Your Career
- Foundation courses include Research Literature and Techniques or Thesis, depending on option selected
- Core business analytics courses include Quantitative Biology, Advanced Cell Biology, Molecular Genetics and Human Physiology

We offer a graduate-level degree online in biology to fit your lifestyle and career aspirations.

Internship experience provides the foundation employers are often looking for. Although not required for your degree, internships are an important part of your education experience. These are just a few of the companies that partner with Student Career Preparedness and offer opportunities for East Texas A&M biology students.
Our Community
Become a part of the STEM Education Alliance. Four departments have partnered together to provide you with the tools and resources needed to excel in education. Our program offers collegiate-level teaching and tutoring experiences through the Learning Assistant program. You'll also have access to several scholarships designed for STEM majors.
Apply to East Texas A&M and enroll in one of the approved undergraduate programs.

At the completion of your junior year (90 credit hours), contact your undergraduate advisor for approval to enter the accelerated undergraduate program. Your advisor will submit a form that will be routed to the graduate coordinator for approval.
Once approved, your current undergraduate degree plan will be updated to include graduate coursework that will count toward both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
In the final semester of your senior year, submit an online application through Apply Texas to the Master’s Accelerated program.
- You must meet undergraduate GPA requirements at the time of graduate school admission.
Begin taking classes toward your master’s degree.
Approved graduate hours taken as a senior will automatically be applied toward your master’s program.
During your final semester of graduate coursework, apply for graduation for both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Your bachelor’s and master’s degrees will be awarded in the same semester in two ceremonies once you have completed all requirements for both degrees.
Program Costs
Tuition and fees for undergraduate students taking 12 credit hours are $4,212 for Texas residents and $9,108 for non-residents.
