A Conversation with Kasey Britton
What would you tell a student who is thinking about attending East Texas A&M?
To students considering attending East Texas A&M, my advice is: Get involved, ask questions, and engage. There's no such thing as a bad question, and people here genuinely want to help you succeed. Participate in campus activities to develop skills, confidence, and connections. And know my door is always open—come see me anytime.
How has your role changed since you began working at East Texas A&M?
While in HR, I supported institutional initiatives and personnel systems. Now, I'm entirely focused on the housing side—ensuring that the systems behind residential life operate smoothly and support student success. Through this shift, my dedication to service and innovation remains the same. My expanded role as Staff Council President has allowed me to influence the broader campus experience—helping to make East Texas A&M a great place to work and thrive.

My career began as an executive assistant to the President of Pacific Northern. I later transitioned into the aerospace sector, joining the Aero-sciences division at L3. At East Texas A&M, I initially joined the Department of Human Resources, providing support to the Chief Human Resources Officer and working on personnel systems and back-office operations. On September 1, 2022, I transitioned into Residential Living and Learning to take on my current role as Coordinator of Housing Systems. Throughout my career, I have embraced my role as a change agent, challenging the status quo to implement creative solutions and drive continuous improvement.
