What is the Sustainable Agriculture CDE?
The state-wide Sustainable Agriculture CDE was established and is hosted by the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems program at East Texas A&M University. Currently, it is the only CDE in the nation focusing specifically on sustainable agriculture.
The event allows Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources students from across the state to prepare and compete in a contest format, similar to CDEs adopted by the Texas and National FFA Organizations.
problem-Solving Themes
We encourage teachers and students to prepare for and participate in the Sustainable Agriculture CDE. This year's event, although individually competitive, will hopefully introduce the concept to a broader set of students, advisors, and other stakeholders. This contest is an excellent end of school experience for students of various course or prior CDE backgrounds.
We are interested in recruiting and assisting chapters in hosting an invitational version of the Sustainable Agriculture CDE during the 2026-2027 school year. Let us know if you are interested!
