Our Master’s of Public Health at East Texas A&M helps you gain the skills to lead in today's ever-changing public health landscape. Whether you choose the Epidemiology or Community Health concentration, our program hopes to provide you with the skills to make data-informed decisions and drive meaningful change in your community.

Online and Face-to-Face
Our program offers a flexible, fully online option designed for working professionals and recent graduates, offering flexibility without compromising quality. We also offer face-to-face classes at our Dallas site to meet international student requirements where applicable.

Curriculum
Our program at East Texas A&M is a fully online, 42-credit-hour program designed for individuals seeking to advance their careers in public health. Our program offers two concentrations, both structured as non-thesis options:
Community Health Promotion
You will have opportunities to plan, implement and evaluate public health initiatives, focusing on promoting health in a wide range of communities. Through core coursework in program planning, varieties in health, global health issues, and U.S. healthcare services and an applied practice experience, we will help you gain the skills needed for leadership roles in public health settings.
Epidemiology
You will have the opportunity to advance your expertise in disease surveillance and public health research. You can also complete an applied practice experience and coursework in advanced epidemiology, chronic and infectious disease epidemiology, outbreak investigation and applied data analysis. Our program helps you gain the skills necessary to monitor, plan, and evaluate public health programs and services.

Adding Value with Certificates
Boost your credentials with a graduate certificate along with your master’s degree. This additional qualification enhances your expertise and improves your competitiveness in the job market.
Psychology of Gerontology and Positive Aging Graduate Certificate
This certificate will enhance skills for persons working with older adults in business, medical or social settings. You will have a better understanding of physical, psychological and developmental impacts of aging and an enhanced understanding of ethical principles of dealing with potentially vulnerable population.
Post Graduate Certificate Family Nurse Practitioner
Take your master’s in nursing to the next level. Our program will help you prepare to fulfill the family nurse practitioner academic requirements, so you can advance your career and broaden the scope of your professional impact.
Operational Excellence Graduate Certificate
The purpose of this certificate is to develop a graduate-level working knowledge of important tools (e.g., Six Sigma and project management software) for successful application in supply chain and project management. By successfully completing the certificate, you will be awarded an Operational Excellence Certificate from East Texas A&M, and Green Belt Six Sigma certificate. All the courses in the Operational Excellence Certificate Program may be applied toward a Master of Science (MS) in our Management degree program and some of the courses may be applied to other graduate business degrees.

If you have not already done so, complete the Request Information form. You will be connected with your enrollment specialist, who can answer your questions. When you’re ready, go ahead and follow the steps below to apply.
Admissions Requirements
To be considered for admission, you must first meet the following criteria.
- GPA minimum 3.00
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Admission Process
- Create an account or login if you already have one
- Complete your profile section first once you log into your account
- Select “School Search” and select East Texas A&M
- Choose the semester you wish to begin
- Select “Public Health, MPH” as your “Program.”
- Pay the $50 application fee.
Wait to receive an application confirmation email before proceeding to the next step.
- Within two business days of your application, the Graduate School will send a confirmation email to the personal email account you used for ApplyTexas.
Submit the following documents after you receive an application confirmation email.
- Upload your documents at myLeo > Apps > Check Admissions Application Status & Test Scores or email your documents to your graduate coordinator unless otherwise specified below.
Your Graduate Coordinator
Contact your previous institution(s) and request that they send your official transcripts to your graduate coordinator.
- We recommend that you request transcripts for all of your academic work.
All international transcripts must be evaluated and the evaluation submitted to the Graduate School.
We accepts evaluations sent directly from the following Agencies.
- If a normal evaluation is submitted, official original transcripts with all marksheets will still need to be submitted.
- If a WES ICAP or equivalent is submitted, we will not need the official transcripts to be submitted separately.
To be considered for admission you must have an awarded undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least a 3.0 overall GPA.

You do not need to submit test scores if you have completed (all years) of a bachelor's or higher degree from a regionally accredited university in the United States.
Request that your scores from one of the following be sent to East Texas A&M University:
- TOEFL (Minimum Scores: IBT 79, or CBT 213, or PBT 550)
- IELTS (Minimum Score: 6.00 band overall)
- PTE (Minimum Score: 53 overall or higher)
