A Conversation with Nicole Klemptner

What is your current employment/career?

I am currently a preschool teacher in the Mount Pleasant Independent School District Head Start/Early Head Start program.

How did East Texas A&M prepare you for your current position?

The program as designed helped me gain the confidence and knowledge base I need to adapt various learning strategies to meet the needs of each of my students.

What advice do you have for students?

All the professors and advisors for special education majors are awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed my time at East Texas A&M, and I am grateful for all of my experiences while a student there. I would stress the importance of getting into the special education face-to-face classes because you learn so much more in that environment. I would also advise them of the benefit for using Dr. Jones’ lab in the library!
