You may be eligible for this renewable $250 or $500 grant if you are a new student starting your master’s degree program in Summer 2026, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.

Program Details

Our Master of Public Health in Epidemiology at East Texas A&M University helps you gain the skills to investigate health challenges and inform decisions through data. Through a combination of epidemiological methods, data analysis, and applied research, the program prepares you to identify disease patterns, evaluate public health interventions, and generate evidence that improves population health outcomes.

What Will I Learn?

Analyze and Interpret Health Data

Learn how to collect, manage, analyze, and interpret health data using statistical and analytical tools to support evidence-based public health decision-making.

Develop the skills to study the distribution and causes of disease, identify risk factors, and monitor population health trends using epidemiological methods.

Evaluate Public Health Interventions

Examine the effectiveness of public health programs, policies, and interventions and use data to inform strategies that improve health outcomes.

Practical Application of Knowledge

Gain hands-on experience through an Applied Practice Experience (APE/practicum), data-driven projects, and applied research opportunities that allow you to apply classroom learning to real-world public health challenges

Online and Face-to-Face

Our program offers a flexible, online option designed for working professionals and recent graduates, offering flexibility without compromising quality. We also offer face-to-face classes at our Dallas site to meet international student requirements where applicable.

Curriculum

Our program at East Texas A&M is an online, 42-credit-hour program designed for individuals seeking to advance their careers in public health.

Public health decisions depend on accurate data and skilled professionals who can interpret it. The Master of Public Health in Epidemiology prepares you to investigate disease patterns, analyze population health data, and inform evidence-based decisions that improve health outcomes. You will develop expertise in epidemiological methods, biostatistics, disease surveillance, and health data analysis while gaining practical experience applying these skills to real-world public health challenges.

If you have not already done so, complete the Request Information form. You will be connected with your enrollment specialist, who can answer your questions. When you’re ready, go ahead and follow the steps below to apply.

Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission, you must first meet the following criteria.

  • GPA minimum 3.00
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Admission Process

Submit a graduate application here or create an ApplyTexas account or login if you already have one.

  • Create an ApplyTexas account or login if you already have one
  • Complete your profile section first once you log into your account
  • Select “School Search” and select East Texas A&M
  • Choose the semester you wish to begin
  • Select “Epidemiology, MPH” as your “Program.”
  • Pay the $50 application fee.

Wait to receive an application confirmation email before proceeding to the next step.

  • Within two business days of your application, the Graduate School will send a confirmation email to the personal email account you used for ApplyTexas.

  • Transcripts/Degrees from universities in Nigeria
  • Transcripts/Degrees from universities in China that do not come from CSSD (formerly CHESICC)
  • Any country where the official transcript is not in English

For all other countries, an evaluation is not initially required. Original official transcripts are required for admission consideration.
Please know that upon receipt of your official transcript, the Graduate School reserves the right to require an external evaluation at that time.

Submit these documents to the Office of International Programs once you have been admitted

  • Official sponsor statement
  • Bank statement from the sponsor with a balance of at least $33,601 USD which is less than 1 year old

  • Once an admission decision has been made, you will receive an email to your student email account at myLeo > Apps > Leomail.

You do not need to submit test scores if you have completed (all years) of a bachelor's or higher degree from a regionally accredited university in the United States.

Request that your scores from one of the following be sent to East Texas A&M University:

  • TOEFL (Minimum Scores: IBT 79, or CBT 213, or PBT 550)
  • IELTS (Minimum Score: 6.00 band overall)
  • PTE (Minimum Score: 53 overall or higher)
  • Duo Lingo (Minimum Score: 105)

*Scores must be less than two years old.
