Online and Face-to-Face

We offer our MSN Nurse Practitioner program courses in a hybrid face-to-face and online format, while intensive and clinical days are scheduled on site in various healthcare settings.

Curriculum

Our curriculum aims to prepare you for advanced practice and leadership roles in various healthcare settings. With a focus on the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) role to meet the growing demand for primary care providers, our program emphasizes advanced health assessment, pathophysiology, pharmacology and health promotion.

We combine online coursework with intensive on-campus sessions and traditional, hands-on clinical experiences in different healthcare environments, ensuring you can develop competence in your advanced practice skills.

How Do I Get Started?

If you have not already done so, complete the Request Information form. You will be connected with your enrollment specialist, who can answer your questions. When you’re ready, go ahead and follow the steps below to apply.

Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission, you must first meet the following criteria.

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution and a nationally accredited nursing program with a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 and minimum 3.0 GPA for the last 60 hours.
  • Applicants must also hold an unencumbered, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or a compact state.
  • This program is not currently open to International Students.

  • Create an account or login if you already have one
  • Complete your profile section first once you log into your account
  • Select “School Search” and select East Texas A&M
  • Choose the semester you wish to begin

Contact your previous institution(s) and request that they send your official transcripts to your graduate coordinator.

  • We recommend that you request transcripts for all of your academic work.

All international transcripts must be evaluated and the evaluation submitted to the Graduate School.

We accepts evaluations sent directly from the following Agencies.

  • If a normal evaluation is submitted, official original transcripts with all marksheets will still need to be submitted.
  • If a WES ICAP or equivalent is submitted, we will not need the official transcripts to be submitted separately.

To be considered for admission, one of the following is required

Submit a letter detailing your reasons for pursuing the master’s degree in nursing, including your professional goals.

Submit a resume or curriculum vitae (CV) which includes your academic and professional history and achievements.

Request three individuals to complete the recommendation form attesting to the applicant’s readiness and academic performance.

  • Once an admission decision has been made, you will receive an email to your student email account at myLeo > Apps > Leomail.

  • Apply for scholarships and graduate assistantships once you are admitted.

  • Contact your financial aid advisor with any questions.

Once registration opens and you are eligible to enroll, your graduate enrollment specialist will contact you to complete registration.
