Arthur Lumzy, Jr. is an accomplished leader in student success and career development, with over 20 years of experience in building scalable, equity-minded career ecosystems. As Executive Director of Student Career Preparedness at East Texas A&M University, he leads strategic initiatives that connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities, including internships, research, practicums and early career roles.
His approach blends employer engagement, data-informed coaching, and high-impact practices to ensure students graduate career-ready. Arthur has led institution-wide efforts to integrate platforms such as Navigate360, Handshake, Focus2, TheForage job simulations, and Google Career Certificates, giving students accessible ways to explore careers, gain experience, and build validated skills at scale.
Previously, Arthur served as Director of Career Services and Interim Assistant Dean at the University of North Texas at Dallas, where he expanded employer pipelines, modernized career platforms and launched high-visibility programming.
Arthur is especially passionate about opening doors for first-generation and transfer students, scaling experiential learning, and helping employers discover exceptional talent across all student populations.
