Literature and Languages
Angela grew up and went to school in Celina, Texas and graduated in May of 2025 from East Texas A&M University with her Bachelors of Arts in English, along with minors in music, psychology and philosophy. In her time as a student here, she worked at the Writing Center, where she discovered a passion for helping students on campus; she's thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to support students and the Department of Literature and Languages, albeit in a different capacity. Outside of the university, she enjoys listening to music (especially folk music), going down random research rabbit holes, reading, hiking, drinking tea and spending time with family and friends.
A Conversation With Angela
What would you say to a student considering East Texas A&M?
This university is the perfect place to grow into yourself. During my time as a student here, I grew a lot as a student, professional and person. The caveat to enjoying that growth is that I had to put myself out there for it to happen, but luckily, the faculty and staff here are incredibly friendly and there to support you through your journey!

As an undergraduate student, I was a member of the Honors College, so I had the opportunity to write an honors thesis. I wrote mine on how the sound design of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey enables the audience to engage in philosophical inquiry, such as asking about humanity's place in the universe. It was an extremely fun project, and not one I ever expected to write; the topic shifted quite a bit as I narrowed down my research! I certainly know far more about the production of 2001 than I ever thought I would, and it's not even my favorite movie!
