The Mayo Review is a student-run literary journal published by the Department of Literature and Languages at East Texas A&M. For more than sixty years, we have published the highest quality prose, poetry, drama and visual art available from both outside and university sources. The Mayo Review copyrights all material in the name of the writer/artist. Contributors hold full rights to their individual works.

From 1957-1991, The Mayo Review originally published under the name Forthcoming. In 1992, shortly after the university’s centennial, Forthcoming rebranded in honor of East Texas A&M’s founder, William Leonidas Mayo. Many past editions of both Forthcoming and The Mayo Review can be reviewed on campus in the Velma K. Waters Library.

The Mayo Review is currently closed to submissions but looks forward to returning soon.

To obtain copies of select recent editions of The Mayo Review, contact the Department of Literature and Languages.
