East Texas A&M University offers a variety of scholarships exclusively for graduate students. The opportunities below outline award amounts, eligibility requirements and application materials to help you identify scholarships that best support your academic and professional goals.

Keith & Nancy McFarland Endowment
Award Amount
$1,000 per year. Awardees are also eligible to pay resident tuition for the terms of the scholarship.
Eligibility
- Graduate student at East Texas A&M University
- In academic good standing
- Making satisfactory progress toward graduation
Enrollment Requirements
- Enrolled in at least 9 graduate credit hours each semester
Additional Application Materials
- Vita or résumé
- Reference letter from major advisor
- One-page statement demonstrating financial need (250 words or less per section), addressing:
- How your immediate family has contributed to, and will continue to contribute to, your success as a graduate student
- Your graduate school experience and major accomplishments since entering your program
- Your financial need and how this award will assist you in completing your graduate education and meeting your career goals
Recipient Responsibilities
- Maintain eligibility requirements throughout the award period
- Submit a thank-you letter addressed to Dr. and Mrs. McFarland

H.M. Lafferty Doctoral Scholarship
Award Amount
$3,000 per year for two years (fall and spring). Awardees are also eligible to pay resident tuition for the terms of the scholarship. Financial aid packages may be adjusted if other aid is received.
Eligibility
- Admitted to a doctoral degree program at East Texas A&M University
- Outstanding and deserving graduate student
Enrollment Requirements
- Enrolled as a full-time graduate student each semester of the scholarship (9 graduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours and a full-time graduate assistantship)
- In academic good standing
- Making satisfactory progress toward graduation

- Preference given to average students
- Students receiving academic merit scholarships or federal grants are not eligible
