East Texas A&M has established requirements regarding the operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) on campus property or by employees in their professional capacity.
Compliance with FAA Regulations and Institutional Oversight
In light of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and the growing commercial use of UAS, East Texas A&M must ensure that it maintains oversight and communicates the necessary guidelines to faculty, staff, students, contractors, visitors, and third-party vendors when operating UAS and model aircraft on university property or during work-related activities.

Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) flight Procedures
Submit a TAMUS Flight Authorization Application in Origami. Upon submitting your application, System Risk Management will review and forward the application to East Texas A&M University, which will review the application to make sure it is administratively accurate and complete, including the following information:

 - Pilot Information
 - Additional Pilots
 - Acknowledgement and Signature

- Certificate of Insurance
 - COA
 - Remote Pilot In Command (rPic) Certificate
 - Required rPic Certificate (if rPic is more than 2 years old, required)
