LaTisha Griffin began her career in education in 2012 as a passionate teacher and coach, quickly finding her calling in leadership. From serving as an assistant principal in 2015, to dean of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Innovation in 2018, her leadership journey continued when in 2019 she joined one of the largest high schools in Texas as the associate principal of operations. In this role, she oversaw complex operational systems and served a diverse student population and a massive instructional staff.
From 2023-2025, her work as director of UIL Compliance further ignited a long-standing interest in school finance, inspiring her to pursue her goal of becoming a chief financial officer within Texas public schools. She is currently a proud student in the Region 10 School Finance Academy, sharpening the skills needed to make that vision a reality.
Beyond her professional achievements, LaTisha is most proud of her role as a mother to her son, Tavion, and her daughter, Sienna, who each have big dreams and even bigger determination to take on the world. LaTisha continues to lead with heart, vision, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of students and the systems that serve them.

What makes East Texas A&M unique?
As a professional working toward certification, I deeply value instructors who bring real-world, practical experience to the classroom. While textbook learning has its place, the ability to engage with real scenarios and lean on a professor who has actually served in the field is invaluable. Their insight not only enriches the learning experience but also provides mentorship that helps me navigate challenges in my current role with greater confidence and clarity.

After graduating my undergrad, I began a career as the executive assistant to the VP of operations for a small international software company. This is where I was exposed to business financials, being responsible for all finances and financial reporting. I transitioned into event marketing, where I worked for a boutique consumer brand agency.
