A Conversation with Jennie

Can you share a challenge you've overcome—or are working to overcome—in pursuing a personal or professional goal?

When I set a goal for myself, there is no one harder on me than me. I recently had to learn that sometimes you must give yourself a little grace and allow room to breathe. In finishing my MBA, I reached a new level of burn out that I hadn't experienced before. It was important for me to slow down, allow a small break, and then finish strong. I finished past my self-imposed deadline, but I finished strong and I didn't give up even when it became difficult. I finished. That, in the end is what mattered.

Tell us about a project—personal or professional—you're currently working on or have completed.

I'm currently pursuing the dream I have of starting my own business. It's a small thing, I do it on the side of all my other responsibilities, but it gives me a place to be creative. It's my outlet. I'm proud of the work I've done thus far and hope one day it becomes something that is inspiring and helpful to others. It's still in the beginning stages, so not much to share at this point, but I'm honestly grateful to have started at all. Dreams don't go anywhere if you never start on the path to achieving them.
