LMS Coordinator

Brett Murrey is an LMS Coordinator for East Texas A&M University. Educational Technology is a demanding but rewarding field for him. The skills and knowledge it takes to keep up with the ever changing and challenging landscape of the online teaching environment is what draws Brett back time and time again. Being the Learning Management Coordinator (LMS Coordinator) allows him to focus on all factors in this changing landscape. Brett works with instructors, students, Department Heads, and Deans to ensure a steady flow of knowledge is being shared in the online educational scene. Working to integrate new and exciting educational pieces into our learning system brings a sense of pride to his career. Brett has been doing this for ten years now and does not see himself doing anything else.

A conversation with Brett

What do you like most about your career?

I like the ever-changing environment. One minute it can be somewhat slow and then the next minute there are a bunch of issues to work through. I enjoy being a problem solver and figuring out the tough questions.

How has your role changed since you began working at East Texas A&M?

I began as a Course Designer and moved into the LMS Coordinator role after a year. I have been in this position for 10 years now. I cannot see myself doing anything else. I have created some great friendships with many professors and enjoy adjunct teaching as well.
