Dr. Kelly Reyna Featured in New Video on Quail Conservation

The Texas A&M University System recently highlighted the work of Dr. Kelly Reyna, professor and director of the Ted and Donna Lyon Center for Gamebird Research at East Texas A&M University, in a video feature on its official YouTube channel. In the video, Reyna reflects on the childhood experience that sparked his passion for bobwhite quail conservation and discusses his lifelong commitment to restoring quail populations across Texas.

At East Texas A&M, Reyna leads research focused on gamebird ecology, habitat restoration and wildlife management. Faculty and student researchers study the factors contributing to quail population declines and develop science-based strategies to improve habitat conditions and support the recovery of gamebird species throughout the region.

The Ted and Donna Lyon Center for Gamebird Research serves as a hub for that work, bringing together research, education and conservation efforts under one mission. Through innovative research, habitat restoration and quail production programs, the center aims to help restore sustainable gamebird populations while providing hands-on learning opportunities for students and resources for landowners and conservation partners.
