Cheryl Childers Lewis Endowed Music Scholarship
Celebrating an Extraordinary Life
We remember Cheryl for the size of her heart, for being a wonderful friend, for her hard work, determination, and dedication to her students. We also remember her for her life of quiet grace and beauty.
Cheryl received her master's in Music Education from East Texas in 1979 and received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from Arkansas Tech University in 1976. She worked as a public school music teacher, directed church choirs multiple time, had private voice studios, volunteered with children's musical theater, and sang in numerous musical groups. She was a voracious reader and worked in college and community libraries. She also worked in Mississippi to train volunteers in a statewide literacy program.
Thank you for your support!
Although we miss Cheryl’s smile, laughter and genuine kindness, we can still share her passion for music. It would have brought her joy to know your gift today is making a difference in the lives of music students at East Texas A&M University. Thank you for honoring her legacy.
