Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Nursing (BSN) CCNE Accredited
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program enables you to integrate scientific knowledge from theory and research, high-level skills, and concepts of leadership into the care of individuals, families and groups.
Nursing (RN-to-BSN) CCNE Accredited
Our competency-based RN-to-BSN degree program recognizes the skills you’ve already learned as a registered nurse or student nurse. We are dedicated to helping you grow and deepen your knowledge to demonstrate competency and clinical judgment at the baccalaureate level.

About the School of Nursing
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences is part of the College of Education and Human Services.
The Department of Nursing at East Texas A&M has two programs:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- The BSN program has two tracks: BSN (pre-licensure) and RN-BSN (post-licensure). The BSN program was approved by both the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) in October 2012 and admitted its first class in January 2013.Â
- Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner.
- The MSN program was approved by the THECB in April 2016 and the TBON in October 2016. The first MSN students were admitted in September 2017 and graduated in May 2019.
The BSN and MSN programs are approved by the Board of Nursing and fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Mission
The mission of the Nursing Department subscribes to the mission of the University and the College of Education and Human Services. The Nursing Department facilitates the development of safe, competent practitioners with critical thinking skills to meet the diverse and evolving health care needs of individuals, families, groups, and communities.
Vision
The vision of the Nursing Department is to be recognized as a center of excellence in nursing education that prepares professionals to practice in a dynamic healthcare environment and serve a diverse community.

The East Texas A&M University Department of Nursing has full approval by the Texas Board of Nursing.
