The Blue to Gold Money Management Center, or B2GMMC, is here to serve any student who needs guidance regarding their financial health while in college.

MISSION STATEMENT: In addition to furthering the education of our students, we want to help foster financial responsibility in their lives. Allowing them the opportunity to discover their financial potential means they will be more likely to achieve their long-term goals throughout their educational, professional, and personal lives.

Any student who needs guidance regarding their financial health while in college to set them up for success throughout their education. All Lions are welcome to our services.

What Help Do We Offer?

We assist students in understanding their personal finances aid and student accounts while fostering healthy and responsible financial planning through earning, saving, budgeting, purchasing, spending and so much more.

  • Schedule and attend personal and confidential coaching sessions with trained professionals or peer mentors to assist you on your path to financial responsibility.
  • Learn how to plan for income and track and review expenses and savings, allowing you to build an emergency fund if you need it.
  • Discover the importance of building credit and learn how to achieve it.
  • Work with a Money Coach to develop a financial survival plan for college, including building an emergency fund and developing savings after graduation.
  • Understand credit reports and scores and what “good credit” means for you.
  • Discover where to find your tuition, fees, housing, and meal plan charges so you are prepared for your college journey toward financial responsibility.
  • Learn how to plan for the cost of on and off-campus housing and how your budget determines your options.
  • Learn to understand options for loan repayment and personal debt.
  • Plan for expenses and living costs after college by discovering resources to assist in understanding expenses related to needs and wants after college.

When should students come to us for help?

The best time for students to visit the Money Management Center is when they need assistance with understanding their financial aid offers, student account charges or guidance with their overall finances in all parts of their life.

How will students get help at the B2GMMC?

Students can reach out to the Money Management Center by email ([email protected]), phone number (903.886.5000), visiting Velma K. Waters Library, Suite 231, scheduling an appointment by visiting the scheduler on the Blue to Gold Money Management Center webpage, attending an outreach event, or referral from Financial Aid, Student Accounts or any other faculty or staff member at ETAMU.

New Student Checklist

Your Lion journey starts here. This New Student Checklist is your step-by-step guide to getting ready for life at ETAMU—from financial aid and class registration to move-in prep and getting involved. It's everything you need to start strong and stay on track. Let's roar into your future!

  • Submit FAFSA/TASFA annually for financial aid (School code: 003565)
  • Accept admission offer via personal email
  • Set up your myLeo email and check it regularly
  • Register for New Student Orientation (NSO)
  • Submit Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine Record (required for students under 22; you will receive an email in your LeoMail from [email protected])
  • Take TSI Assessment (if required)
  • Talk to an advisor and register for classes
  • Apply for housing if living on campus (myLeo → Apps Tab)
  • Send final high school or college transcripts
  • Check Financial Aid Portal (myLeo → Student Resources Tab) regularly for updates, award notifications, and to accept/decline aid
  • Apply for scholarships through the Donor Funded Portal (myLeo → Apps Tab)
  • Apply for external scholarships
  • Complete the FERPA Form (optional) if you want your parents to access your financial aid information

  • Set up refund selection (myLeo → Apps Tab)
  • Set up a payment plan (myLeo → Student Resources Tab → LeoPay)
  • Get your student ID (Lion Card) – check LeoMail for instructions
  • Check student account for financial aid disbursements (begin monitoring 10 days before classes start; myLeo → Student Resources Tab → LeoPay)
  • Set up authorized user (optional) for parent/guardian contributions (myLeo → Student Resources Tab → LeoPay)

  • Purchase or rent textbooks
  • Download D2L Brightspace (learning platform)
  • Explore tutoring & success resources
  • Review your class schedule & campus map
  • Check Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status in myLeo at the end of the semester

  • Pack dorm essentials (bed linens, toiletries, school supplies, etc.)
  • Coordinate move-in time
  • Get parking permit if bringing a car (myLeo → Apps Tab)
  • Familiarize yourself with campus services (Health Center, Money Management Center, Lion Food Pantry, etc.)

  • Monitor LeoMail for financial aid updates
  • Return to Financial Aid Portal home page for any outstanding requirements (myLeo → Student Resources → Financial Aid)
  • Book an appointment with Financial Aid or the Money Management Center for help anytime

  • Check out student organizations & Greek Life
  • Attend Welcome Week events

  4. Select Yes, I have a code and enter the 4-digit access code.
  5. Provide your name and email address.
  6. Verify your account.
  7. Pick a username. You can make up your own or use the prepopulated suggestion.
