A former member of the East Texas A&M University Rodeo team and College National Champion was listed among the best in the world in Breakaway Roping in a recent publication by the Breakaway Roping Journal.

Rylee George, an Agribusiness graduate, was listed as the third-ranked roper in the world in 2026 with total earnings of $122,207.98. Since publication of the article, George’s winnings for the year have climbed to $146,503.38, and she still holds the third-place spot in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association’s Pro Rodeo Breakaway world standings.

George, who, between her time at Southwest Texas College and East Texas A&M, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo five times, took home the championship in 2025, giving Lion Rodeo its fourth different National Champion in four years. Another of her accolades is the all-time record of 29 seconds flat across 10 head of cattle at the 2025 National Finals Breakaway Roping Rodeo, breaking the record by almost three seconds.
