ETAMU Student Shines on National Stage with American FFA Degree

East Texas A&M University Honors College student Colby Grayson earned a coveted honor as a recipient of the American FFA Degree from the National FFA Organization.

The American FFA Degree is the highest degree achievable in FFA. It demonstrates the effort members put into their supervised agricultural experiences and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they have exhibited throughout their FFA careers.

Grayson is a junior from Hooks, Texas, majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Biosciences. He officially received his American FFA Degree at the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 1, 2025.

Dr. Bryan Rank, dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at East Texas A&M, had high praise for Grayson's achievement.

“Colby has demonstrated the effort and dedication to achieve this distinction at the national level,” Rank said. “He is well on his way to becoming a leader in the agriculture industry. We are proud to have Colby as a student at East Texas A&M.”

Grayson's award marks the second consecutive year that an East Texas A&M student has received the American FFA Degree. Last year, ag major Cayden Barton was also awarded the degree.
