Housing How-To: Move-in at a Glance

General Move-In Dates: August 17–18, 2026.

Beginning July 6, students will be able to log into the MyLeo portal to select their preferred check-in date and time.

Where to Go

Monday, August 17

  • All students will check in at the Rayburn Student Center (look for directional signs).
  • Physical Address: 2200 W Neal St., Commerce, TX 75428
  • Students will check in, receive room keys (if applicable), and obtain housing materials.
  • Parking is available in Lot 21 and Lot 23 for access to the Rayburn Student Center.

Tuesday, August 18

Students will check in directly at their assigned residential community (locate on interactive map) to receive room keys and housing materials.

Unloading Zones and Parking (Both Days)

  • Follow signs to the unloading zones at your residential community.
  • After unloading, please move your vehicle to Lot 18 or Lot 19. A shuttle will run from these lots to the residential areas.

Move-In Day Unloading Zones

  • Arrive at your assigned time slot to keep traffic flowing.
  • Follow directional signage and staff instructions.
  • Unload quickly — drivers should stay with vehicles while items are moved in.
  • Move your vehicle to long-term parking once unloaded.
  • Volunteers will be on hand to help with carts and directions.

10 Tips Before You Arrive

  1. Check your housing portal for your final move-in details.
  2. Label all boxes with your name, community, and room number.
  3. Connect with your roommate(s) ahead of time to coordinate shared items.
  4. Pack wisely and bring only what you need for now.
  5. Review the list of prohibited items to avoid last-minute surprises
  6. If possible, bring your own dolly or cart — we have a limited supply and lines can be long.
  7. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated — Texas weather in August can be hot.
  8. Know where to park by familiarizing yourself with unloading and long-term parking areas in advance.
  9. Have your student ID or mobile credentials ready.
  10. Bring plenty of patience and a positive attitude — Move-In Day is busy, but it's the start of something great!
