Tips for a Great Studio Portrait
- Wear solid, neutral colors.
- Avoid busy patterns or logos.
- Our standardized crop focuses on the face so embroidered logos are usually not visible. Focus on wearing something professional that reflects your style.
- Sit up straight—don't slouch.
- Relax and smile naturally.
- If it’s hot outside, give yourself time to cool off before your session.
- Store transition lenses before arriving so they remain clear.
- Be open with the photographer—let them know what you like or don't like. We’re happy to work with you to get the perfect shot.
What Not to Say to the Photographer
Want to impress the very cool (and handsome) photographer? Try not to say these clichés:
- “I’m going to break your camera.”
- “I hate having my picture taken.”
- “How much does that camera cost, anyway?”
- “You know, my uncle is a photographer…”
