Auxiliary Services Guide: Door Access Management
Auxiliary Services manages door access privileges to ensure authorized individuals have appropriate access to university buildings and classrooms. Access is maintained, reviewed and updated based on employment status, university assignments and current access needs. Use the resources below to request, update or remove access as needed.
Policies
- Administrators, faculty and staff will maintain privileges until terminated (EPA Notification/Termination Portal Notification) or otherwise determined.
- Automated reports will be produced each semester, and assignments will be entered by Auxiliary staff based on additions to the class room reservation program (EMS) for the new term (authorization form not required for this step).
- Privileges for individuals with current access described as “other” will be removed from the system at the end of each semester, and users will be required to submit the Door Access Authorization Form accordingly for reassignment approval.
- “Other” access includes GAs, TAs, Adjuncts, Students and Research as of this update.
(Used for Faculty, Staff, GA, TA or Research access)
Requesting Building and Room Access
Campus buildings are generally open Monday through Friday, except on university holidays. Classrooms used for meeting space remain in a controlled state at all times and require a Lion Card for entry.
If you are hosting an event, meeting or other activity outside normal business hours, you must submit a building access request. Examples include Mane Event, art exhibits, athletic events and other events requiring access to campus buildings or meeting spaces outside regular hours.
Please note: This request is not a reservation for space. It is a notification tool to ensure that the rooms or buildings you have already reserved are accessible when needed.
If you have questions about reserving space, please visit the Rayburn Student Center Reservations page.
What Happens After Submission?
Submitting the building and room access request form will notify Auxiliary Services, Lion Card Staff, Facilities and University Police of your access needs.
