Public Health Showcase Comes to East Texas A&M

On March 21, East Texas A&M Health and Human Performance students hosted the fourth annual Public Health Showcase at the university's Dallas site.
The event brought together students, faculty and professionals from the realm of public health, with its goal of providing a glimpse into the vast range of opportunities available in the field. Through workshops, networking and insightful discussions, students learned how others found their career paths and how they aligned their passions and skills with their professional goals.
This year's showcase featured three workshops from noteworthy individuals from the public health sector. Those included Christine Aubert, a data and grant coordinator for the Northeast Texas Public Health District; Lauren Murphy, a program manager for the Texas Department of State Health Services; and East Texas A&M alum Kiante Blakely, founder and CEO or MedDivine Health, LLC.
The workshops covered a wide variety of topics, including the importance of data management, leveraging professional relationships, job hunting within the public health field, improving resumes and more.
The Department of Health and Human Performance expects to continue the showcase as a yearly event. For more information about programs related to public health at East Texas A&M, contact Dr. Elizabeth Wachira.
