Lions Enjoy Day with the Rangers on ETAMU Day
East Texas A&M University students, employees, alumni and friends had an afternoon full of fun at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas during ETAMU Day, hosted by the Texas Rangers on August 24, 2025.

Held through the Rangers’ Community Day program, guests received a co-branded blue and gold Rangers cap with the purchase of a special ticket. While East Texas A&M has hosted a university day with the Rangers nearly every year since 2018, this was the first year that purchasers of the community day ticket were seated in the same area of the stadium, creating a festive atmosphere with hundreds of Lion family and friends enjoying the game together.
Joe Elabd, vice chancellor for research of the Texas A&M University System, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.
A large number of students were also bused in from Commerce to Arlington free of charge, courtesy of the Office of Student Engagement. These students also received access to a free hamburger and hot dog buffet in the concourse behind their sections.
The afternoon was capped off by a 5-0 Rangers victory against the Cleveland Guardians.
