Lion Alum Appears on NBC 5 to Discuss Launch of Bilingual Learning Platform

A 2026 East Texas A&M University graduate recently appeared on KXAS NBC Channel 5 in Dallas-Fort Worth to discuss “Let’s Leer,” a bilingual education platform that he founded.

Adrián Hernandez Anderson, who graduated this past summer with an M.A. in Spanish Language Teaching, founded “Let’s Leer,” (pronounced leh-EHR, as in the Spanish verb meaning “to read) in 2026. The platform provides bilingual books, family activities, educator resources and language tutoring support in order to make exploring both the English and Spanish languages fun, easy and exciting for families.

Born in Mexico, Anderson said on NBC 5’s Texas Today program that he believes children today are hesitant to speak a second language confidently, or even speak their first language publicly.

“Bilingual education gives children not just a new vocabulary, but it gives them a second way to view the world,” Anderson said.

Coming to America when he was still an infant, Anderson explained that upon attending college, he grew to appreciate bilingualism more as he met students from across the world.

“I started meeting people from different cultures and different countries, and they were so passionate about their language,” Anderson said. “I was wondering, why don’t I feel this emotion?”
