Graduate Student named Teacher of Promise in Dallas ISD
Adrian Hernandez Anderson, an East Texas A&M University graduate student, was recently named the Dallas ISD Teacher of Promise for the Alternative Certification Program for the 2025-2026 school year. Anderson teaches English for Sheltered Language Learners (ESL) at W.T. White High School in Dallas, Texas. He serves as both the cheer coach and yearbook advisor, where he helps foster creativity, school spirit and student engagement across campus.
Dallas ISD recognizes outstanding early-career educators through the Teacher of Promise honor. The award celebrates teachers in their first three years who demonstrate excellence in instruction, leadership and community impact.
Anderson is a graduate student at East Texas A&M in the Department of Literature and Languages, expected to graduate in Spring 2026. He is completing his master's in Spanish with an emphasis on heritage language education and indigenous language visibility.
