East Texas A&M Graduate Finds Career Success at Children’s Health-Dallas
Keondra Jones, a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership program at East Texas A&M University, has secured a role as a project manager in information services at Children's Health-Dallas, one of the largest pediatric health systems in the country.
Keondra, who graduated in Spring 2025, now oversees critical IT projects that directly support the hospital's mission to improve care for children across North Texas. Her work includes coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring technology solutions meet clinical needs.
“Ultimately, my work helps our medical staff provide the best possible care for children,” she said.
Keondra credits the graduate healthcare leadership program — particularly the hands-on HHPH 585: Program Planning and Evaluation course, taught by Dr. Elizabeth Wachira — with preparing her for the demands of her new role.
“The program, which focused on addressing a healthcare disparity, was a hands-on experience that allowed me to apply my leadership, collaboration and communication skills in a real-world scenario,” Keondra said in a reflection submitted to the department.
