Admitted Student Day Welcomes Future Lions to Campus
East Texas A&M University welcomed a strong turnout of prospective students and their families for Admitted Student Day on April 25, offering Future Lions an immersive look at campus life and the next steps toward enrollment.
The daylong event guided admitted students through everything from academic programs to student life, helping them envision their future at East Texas A&M. Attendees participated in campus and residence hall tours, connected with faculty and staff at college receptions and explored opportunities at the Student Life Expo.
Throughout the day, students and families also received hands-on support with key enrollment steps. Sessions on financial aid, advising, housing and registration gave attendees the tools and confidence to move forward. A series of “Next Steps” presentations helped simplify the enrollment process, while optional activities allowed guests to tailor their experience.
The event also emphasized a sense of community, with opportunities for students to meet future classmates and faculty, and for families to engage with university leadership and support services.
“East Texas A&M is a really comfortable school—it feels like home, honestly,” said Bridgeport High School student Chloe Reed. “Everyone is super welcoming and it’s an amazing place to be.”

“I’m excited to come here for nursing,” said Lydia Essary, a senior at Ector High School. “It was cool to see all the nursing activities they had set up. East Texas A&M is full of people that are welcoming, and it’s a neat campus that’s pretty easy to navigate.”
Dali Hatanville, director of admissions operations, said the event plays a key role in helping students feel prepared and excited about joining the university.
“Admitted Student Day was an incredible success, as we welcomed more than 800 students and their guests to campus,” Hatanville said. “It was an exciting opportunity to connect, showcase the Lion experience and support students as they take the next step in choosing their future at East Texas A&M.”
Admitted Student Day serves as a major step for many Future Lions as they transition from acceptance to enrollment, reinforcing East Texas A&M's commitment to student success from day one.
