TAMUC Alum Sets Sights on 2024 Summer Olympics
A recent article in the Greenville Herald-Banner highlights A&M-Commerce alum Joe Brown and his goal to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in August. Brown, a discus thrower, was a national champion track and field star for Texas A&M-Commerce. He has qualified for the USA National Championships/Olympic Trials four years in a row.
Despite facing significant financial challenges as an unsponsored athlete, Brown exemplifies perseverance in and dedication to his sport. His next hurdle is the USATF Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon, that begin on June 21.
“Your journey to greatness begins with belief in yourself and the courage to do the necessary work,” Brown said.
Brown graduated from A&M-Commerce in 2017, 2019 and 2020 with degrees in General Business, Business Administration, and Finance, respectively.
