Pair of ETAMU Students Participate in ‘Heroes on Horses” Event

Two East Texas A&M University students took part in festivities honoring U.S. military veterans at the 2nd annual Heroes on Horses parade and competition. Jointly hosted by the American Paint Horse Foundation and the National Snaffle Bit Association Foundation, the event took place at the American Paint Horse Association World Championship Horse Show on July 3 in Fort Worth, Texas.
In the event, disabled veterans, active military personnel and retired veterans compete and are recognized within the horse show community. Timothy Smith and Florence Bryant, two East Texas A&M students and both U.S. Army veterans, participated in the event. Smith is currently majoring in Equine Studies, while Bryant is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Equine Studies in December 2024. Both students participated in the inaugural Heroes on Horses event in 2024.
