Lion Walk 2024 Celebrates New Lions at TAMUC
The Lion Walk is a favorite tradition at the start of the spring and fall semesters at A&M-Commerce. It’s an opportunity to welcome and celebrate new Lions to campus, including first-year, transfer and international students. The fall semester walk took place on Thursday, August 22.
The walk started at the university's amphitheater and wound through campus. As they strolled, new students were cheered and celebrated by faculty, staff, fellow students, the Pride Marching Band, cheerleaders and several student groups who lined the sidewalk.
As the parade passed the Victory Bell on the east side of campus, many students reached out to touch it as a good-luck gesture.
The walk concluded with a student convocation in Ferguson Auditorium.
