King Named Co-SLC Football Student-Athlete of the Year, Three Selected to All-Academic team
East Texas A&M University senior linebacker Koby-Sebasyen King has been named a co-Southland Conference Football Student-Athlete of the Year on Friday morning. He and teammates Jadin Jones and Kyree Anderson have also been selected to the SLC Football All-Academic team.
King (Houston – Summer Creek) is the first football student-athlete from East Texas A&M to earn a Southland Student-Athlete of the Year honor and the third Lion student-athlete across all sports to earn the award in the Division I era.
A second team all-Southland honoree, King was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. Totaling 113 tackles and 5.5 sacks on the 2025 season, King has also been named to the Dean’s List and SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll throughout his Lion career. He is a business administration major.
Jones (Killeen) was also selected to the CSC Academic All-District team, the Dean’s List, and the SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. He is a health kinesiology & sport studies major, who started all 12 games along the offensive line for the Lions in 2025.
Anderson (Cy-Lakes), who was also named to the second team all-Southland, is a health kinesiology & sport studies major. He totaled 105 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles last season, while being named to the Dean’s List and SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll as well.
