Fosuhene earns SLC Athlete of the Year, DI era-best 16 named to All-SLC teams
East Texas A&M University track and field sprinter Enoch Fosuhene was named the Southland Conference Men’s Athlete of the Year and Men’s Track Athlete of the Year, highlighting 16 all-conference honorees for the Lions during the outdoor season.
Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) was also named the Most Valuable Performer at the Southland Outdoor Conference Championships in May, winning the conference title in the 100 meter dash, while finishing as the runner-up in the 200 meter dash, and winning the bronze medals in the 4×100 meter relay and the 4×400 meter relays.
He is the third Lion since joining the Southland to be named men’s athlete of the year and men’s track athlete of the year, joining former Lions Ibrahim Fuseini in 2025 and J.T. Smith in 2023.
His season-best times in both the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash rank among the top 20 in the NCAA West Region. He ran a time of 10.06 seconds in the 100 meter dash at the SLC Championships, which is ninth in the region and tied for 18th in the country.
The 16 all-conference honorees for this year’s outdoor champions surpass the 13 during the 2023 Outdoor SLC Championships for the most at an indoor or outdoor conference championships in the Division I era.
