A&M-Commerce Alum Given Computer Science Teaching Honor

Texas A&M University-Commerce alum Christopher Evans was named as an honorable mention for the 2023 Computer Science Teachers Association CS Teaching Excellence Award. The honor is given to computer science teachers who demonstrate excellent work inspiring students to explore the computer science field, effectively engage students in learning rigorous, standards-aligned computer science content, and focus on broadening the participation of underrepresented students in computing. Evans was one of five honorable mentions in this nationwide award. Evans currently teaches at North Forney High School in Forney, Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television Production in 2003 and a master’s degree in Instructional Technology in 2010, both from A&M-Commerce.
