Alex Speer Named Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week

COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s cross country student-athlete Alex Speer has been named this week’s Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week.
In a preview of the course for the Southland Conference Championships and going up against SLC runners for the first time this season, Alex Speer ran a time of 20:08.79 in the eight-kilometer race to finish fourth overall at the Nicholls XC Invitational and guide the Lions to a runner-up finish. A&M-Commerce has finished second as a team in all three races this season.
A&M-Commerce is idle this week before taking part in the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by Arkansas, on September 30. The Lions have just two more races left before the SLC Championships.
The Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week will be awarded by Lion Athletics each week during the academic year.
