2026-2027 FAFSA

The 2026-2027 FAFSA is available to complete now on the Federal Student Aid Website. If you’ll be attending East Texas A&M’s new year, we highly recommend submitting an application as soon as possible. Our school code is 003565 and the priority deadline is January 15, 2026.

Federal Work Study

  • Must demonstrate need
  • Funds are limited and there is a waitlist
  • Being awarded Work Study (WS) does not guarantee a student a job
  • Student given WS and who have secured a job must complete the Student Worker Training and a Permit Request

If you were awarded an outside scholarship or have outside scholarship questions, please visit with a scholarship advisor located in the Welcome Center.

Scholarship Opportunities

Our Donor-Funded Scholarship Portal opened on December 1 and offers hundreds of scholarships to apply for. You can find the portal through your myLEO under Apps, Scholarship Universe. These scholarships will be awarded for the 2026-2027 school year.

What is FERPA at East Texas A&M?

FERPA stands for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Without written consent, a student’s records cannot be shared with others outside of school officials. If you want a parent/guardian or other interested party to be able to discuss your account without you present, please fill out the FERPA release form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get aid for classes that aren’t required for my degree?

  • No, you can only receive financial aid for courses that are required for your degree. You can discuss your degree plan with your Academic Advisor.

Why hasn’t my financial aid been disbursed?

  • You may need to complete a requirement in order for your aid to disburse. Check your financial aid portal through myLEO.

Why am I getting “Student Action Required” emails?

  • This means there is something you need to complete to ensure your FAFSA and financial aid are in good standing. Check the financial aid portal for further instructions.
