
Principal of the Year Awarded to ETAMU Alum
Jericah Jackson, Ed.D., was recently named Aldine ISD's 2025 Secondary Principal of the Year at Young Women's Leadership Academy in Houston, Texas. She has served as the academy's first principal since its opening in 2021.
Jackson received her Doctor of Education in Educational Administration at East Texas A&M in 2020. Regents Professor Julia Ballenger, Ph.D., served as Jackson’s dissertation chair. Jackson earned her Master of Education at Sam Houston State University and her Bachelor of Science at Baylor University.
“Beyond academics, I cultivate a school culture that supports the whole child, prioritizing their social and emotional well-being and empowering them to become confident and resilient leaders,” Jackson said.
