NABA Students Shine at Deloitte Green Tank Challenge
Three members of East Texas A&M University's National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) chapter — Ritika, Alberta Eshun, and Eunice Offei — returned from the NABA Regional Conference in Atlanta with top honors after competing in the Deloitte Green Tank Challenge, held from October 31 through November 2, 2025. Each student earned a $1,000 award for their role on winning teams that presented practical, data-driven recommendations to Deloitte judges.
The Green Tank Challenge tasked student teams with stepping into the role of executive leadership for a mid-market company, Greenvergent Solutions, and diagnosing real operational and financial challenges — from rising input costs and supply chain disruptions to slowing receivables and competitive pressures. Over the course of 36 hours, teams analyzed a comprehensive set of financial statements, memos, and market research, then delivered a 10-minute presentation followed by a two-minute Q&A before a panel of Deloitte partners and practitioners.
Reflecting on the experience, Ritika shared, “Participating in the Deloitte Green Tank Challenge was an incredible opportunity to apply what we've learned in the classroom to real business problems. The College of Business has played a huge role in helping us build the analytical, communication, and leadership skills needed to perform at this level. Having industry professionals recognize our work reinforces how well our programs prepare students to compete nationally.”
The conference brought together students and professionals for career expos, leadership workshops, and networking events centered on empowering future leaders in business and technology. The success of the NABA students underscores the strength of the College of Business curriculum and its experiential learning approach, where classroom theory meets hands-on practice. Through dynamic programs, faculty mentorship, and active student organizations, ETAMU continues to cultivate talent that is recognized by leading firms such as Deloitte—preparing students not only for competitions, but for meaningful careers that shape the future of business and analytics.
