Music Faculty Named to A&M System Chancellor’s Academy of Teacher Educators

East Texas A&M University coordinator of music education Darla Meek was recently named to the Texas A&M University System’s Chancellor's Academy of Teacher Educators. The academy aims to honor both individual faculty members and university teams who are making noteworthy and exemplary contributions to quality, innovation and continuous improvement in teacher preparation. Each year, up to three individuals and up to three exemplary university teams are inducted into the academy. Meek has worked at East Texas A&M since 2007. She currently teaches undergraduate and graduate music classes and supervises student teachers. In addition to her duties at East Texas A&M, she has published children’s choir curricula for Lifeway Christian Resources and Celebrating Grace, Inc., and is the author of multiple resource books for elementary music specialists.
